On single track roads its good to know what is coming up behind you, and some of these artics are quieter than cars.
Computer
Keep track of your mileage. Check your speed etc. Available with different functions. If you are an enthusiast you will want to know you r pedaling rate or cadence.
Saddle
If your backside gets numb after a few miles maybe its time to try a new saddle. If you prefer a more upright riding position a broader saddle would be more comfortable.
Lights
Lights are necessary and required by law if you cycle in the dark. LED lights are best choice for rear as they are bright and the batteries last for ages. For front a clip on torch is useful. Go for halogen for better light output.
